Strengthening Families

What we do:

This service is for families who need some help to get back on track. Franklin Family Support Services' Strengthening Families meetings are about getting everyone around the same table. We want to be the fence at the top of the cliff, rather than the ambulance at the bottom.

We are the lead agency in Franklin for providing the Strengthening Families program. This means that we can bring together all the Franklin people and agencies who are working with you and your family/whanau and help you to reach your goals.

You let us know who you would like at your meeting, and we arrange a date and a time that suits everyone. We also facilitate the meeting for you.

Our facilitators are well qualified in either social work or counselling and have undergone the Strengthening Families training.  This enables them  to professionally and independently run your family/whanau meeting.

Our co-ordinator is Hepi Lopeti and she would be happy to discuss if Strengthening Families is right for you.

Strengthening Families is designed to bring everyone together to discuss the welfare of your family/whanau and how best to go about getting you the help that you need.

Because it's you who decides who should be at the meeting there won't be anyone there who will make you feel uncomfortable or threatened, you are at the centre of all decision making.

We hope that your Strengthening Families meeting will create a working plan. This plan will help the Franklin agencies to work together more efficiently, ensuring that your family/whanau is getting all the assistance that you require.
