HistoryFranklin Family Support Services in Pukekohe is a leading agency for social services in the Franklin District. A team was formed in 1979 as the result of a community survey, and the result was the Family Support Centre in Pukekohe. We have been providing support and services to the community since 1982 with a strong team of both volunteers and professionals. We began by providing counselling, telephone counselling, and befriending, and have expanded to include Family Finance, Transport to medical appointments, Legal advice, Social work and many other services. In July 2008 we changed our name and legal status to reflect the changing nature of the organisation, and became Franklin Family Support Trust, known as Franklin Family Support Services. 2009 saw the further expansion of our services with the opening of a branch office in Waiuku. All services available in Pukekohe are now available to the people living in Waiuku, and can be accessed through the Waiuku Civic Centre at the corner of Constable Rd & King St, Waiuku. FundingFranklin Family Support Services is funded through a number of government contracts to provide services and the rest of our funding is made up from grants, donations and fees for services provided. StaffFranklin Family Support Services is staffed by a team of professional staff, volunteer finance advisers, volunteer drivers, and a number of others who help out in various ways. We aim to provide a professional and friendly service to all who come to us. |
