Julie Wood

I am married to Nicholas and we have a blended family. I have two sons and 3 step daughters and between us we have 8 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. I am retired and am a full time Nana for my younger son's children who live next door to us at Clark's Beach. My elder son lives in England with his fiancé and new son.

I have lived and worked in the South Auckland and Franklin regions ever since I arrived from England with my parents in 1962.

My first career was with the Justice Department working in the Courts and after my children went to school I started work at Manukau Institute of Technology where I remained for 26 years.

My last role was Director Student Affairs involved in the financial, strategic and operational planning the Institute and responsible and accountable for providing support services to staff and students. I worked with a group of wonderful professionals who were the hands on providers of health, counselling and advocacy, early childhood education, working with people with disabilities and careers and employment services.

I have been a 'mature' student starting university study 1988. I liked studying and completed post graduate qualifications in 2005.

My interests are reading, theatre, films and travel. I potter in the garden. After making donations to many gyms over the years I converted to Pilates 9 years ago.

I became a Trustee in October 2015.
