Our Mission
"It takes a Village to Raise a Child" - African saying
Franklin Family Support Trust exists so that families and people within the wider Franklin community of interest who are experiencing changes, challenges or trauma of a personal, social or financial nature will have increasing resilience, resourcefulness and a sense of well-being.
We will know this because:
- Families and individuals living in Franklin and surrounding areas, assessed as having (or being at risk of having) social needs, have these needs met and become more independent.
- At-risk and poorly-functioning families function well and are less dependent on external assistance.
- Families live within the limits of their income and/or increase their level of income.
- Families with multiple needs are able to identify and discuss their needs, develop plans to meet these needs, and follow through on the plans so that the needs are met.
- Individuals have skills to cope with their circumstances, improve their prospects and increase their independence.
- Children who have been exposed to family violence have learned strategies for maintaining effective relationships.
- Individuals with past anger-management issues are able to manage their anger.
- Truancy rates amongst school pupils are very low.
- Ninety per cent of individuals attend scheduled appointments at the CMDHB Super Clinic.
